1. Who this policy applies to

This policy applies to Pulse Chat mobile apps, related websites, and support interactions connected to the Pulse Chat service.

2. Information Pulse Chat may process

  • Account information such as phone number, user identifier, and profile details.
  • Content you create inside the service, including messages, plans, polls, and community participation.
  • Technical and device information needed for security, diagnostics, notifications, and app reliability.
  • Optional contact, alias, or location-related data when you choose features that need them.

3. Why the information is used

  • To create and secure accounts, sign users in, and prevent abuse.
  • To deliver messages, calls, plans, polls, and real-time communication features.
  • To provide AI-assisted features such as summaries, smart replies, translation, or message catch-up where available.
  • To maintain service performance, reliability, moderation, fraud prevention, and user support.

4. Communications, calling, and AI features

Pulse Chat may process message metadata, plan activity, call state, and other service events required to power chat, decision, and calling experiences. Where enabled, Pulse Chat may also process text and limited context needed to provide AI-assisted drafting, catch-up summaries, decision suggestions, and translation features.

Where you use translation or AI-assisted features, Pulse Chat may process the text you provide or select for that feature. For translation features, we may use DeepL, a Germany-based neural machine translation provider. For AI-assisted drafting, summaries, catch-up, or decision suggestions, we may use Mistral AI, a France-based AI platform. We only send the content needed to provide the requested feature and avoid sending unnecessary account, contact, or profile information.

Depending on the feature, the information processed may include selected message text, limited surrounding conversation context, language preferences, and feature usage metadata needed to provide, secure, and troubleshoot the feature. The purpose of this processing is to deliver the requested translation or AI-assisted result and to improve the user experience of those optional features.

Where applicable, the legal basis for this processing is performance of our contract with you to provide the feature you requested, your consent where required, and our legitimate interests in keeping the service secure, preventing abuse, and maintaining reliability.

5. Location and community features

If you use location-aware features such as local rooms or community discovery, Pulse Chat may process approximate or precise location data as needed for that experience. Location access is optional and can be controlled through your device settings.

6. Infrastructure and hosting

Pulse Chat may rely on cloud and infrastructure providers to operate securely and reliably. Hosting and service design are intended to support secure access, resilient performance, and privacy-conscious data handling.

Third-party service providers may include infrastructure, notification, storage, moderation, and diagnostics providers used to support the service. Where translation or AI-assisted features are enabled, Pulse Chat may use DeepL in Germany and Mistral AI in France. These providers are selected with EU data protection requirements in mind, but their own retention and processing practices remain subject to their contractual terms and data processing arrangements.

7. Data retention

Pulse Chat retains information only as long as needed for the service, security, legal obligations, dispute handling, or legitimate operational needs. Some content may expire automatically when a feature is designed to be temporary.

Pulse Chat does not use AI provider outputs to train public models unless that is explicitly stated and a lawful basis, including consent where required, is in place. Retention of content processed by third-party AI or translation providers depends on the applicable provider terms and data processing agreements.

8. Your choices and controls

  • You can update profile information and choose privacy-related modes inside the app where available.
  • You can control notifications and some device permissions through operating system settings.
  • AI-assisted and translation features are optional or triggered by user action where applicable, and you should avoid submitting sensitive content if you do not want it processed for those features.
  • You can request account deletion by using the in-app deletion flow or the instructions on the Delete Account page.
